On the occasion of the Aquarium's 10th anniversary, Director Julie Packard writes, "To reach and educate young and old, to advance knowledge in the marine sciences, to focus public attention on critical issues of marine conservation—these are the reasons the Monterey Bay Aquarium exists." Her goals for the next 10 years include new exhibits with a more global view, new technologies to carry our messages beyond our walls and expansion of science education programs.
